Our Junior Officer development program is enhanced by our relationship with the Hanseatic Marine Training School in Cyprus. BSMT, BSMarE graduates and young men interested in a seagoing career in the Catering Department are welcome to apply for such positions.

Locally in Manila we have our own in house training centre offering short, topic specific courses that are not generally available at other training centres. Many of the courses were developed based on feedback from our clients, therefore ensuring the superior performance of our seafarers once onboard.

In house courses are FREE for all BSM-CSC-PH seafarers, you only need give us your time and we’ll send you back onboard with more knowledge and the confidence to apply it. In House Courses include: -

Safety Courses:
• On Board Security Awareness (1 day);
• ISM Document Control (1 day);
• Being Audited (2 days);
• Safety Equipment Maintenance & Recording (2 days);
• Preparation for Tanker Vetting/CDI Inspections (2 days); &
• (SSO) Ship Security Officer (2 days)

General Courses:
• STCW 95 Minimum Rest Periods (1 day); &
• Onboard Disciplinary Procedures (1 day)

Courses for Deck Officers :
• Passage Planning & Chart Correcting the Admiralty Way (2 days)

Courses for Engineers and Engine Ratings:
• Bunkers & Bunkering Practices (2 days);
• General Watchkeeping Responsibilities (3 days);
• Basic Marine Lubrication (1 day); &
• Marine Cooling Systems (1 day)

Computer Courses:
• Windows/Word 2000 (2 days);
• Excel 2000 (3 days); &
• Networking & use of peripherals (1 day)
• We also have courses on specific software used by our employers onboard their vessels
