Group, we at BSM-CSC-PH don’t work for our shipmanagers; we
work WITH them. We fully appreciate that their service to
their clients is only as good as the service and the quality
of seafarers that we provide from Manila.
To this end, BSM-CSC-PH is actively
involved in the recruitment and screening of new applicants,
the review of onboard performance of our active seafarers
and the further training and briefing of all seafarers prior
to their departure for the vessel.
We are constantly monitoring
and discussing the performance of our seafarers on behalf
of their employers and we actively take an interest in their
professional development. We encourage our officers to study
for their next certificate of competency once they have gained
sufficient experience in their present rank and to assist
them, many employers have made study loans available for those
who require financial assistance to obtain their next professional
licence.
At this time, our shipmanagers
are employing 130 Filipino Masters and Chief Engineers onboard their vessels and
together, we are continuously developing our younger Filipino
officers and engineers to become our Masters and Chief Engineers
of the future.
