Philippine Hammonia Shipagency Inc (PHS), duly licenced by POEA, was formed on 01 July 2003 from the merger of Philippine Hanse and Hammonia Marine Services.

The company has an active pool of 4000 professional seafarers on the payroll. Our fleet of 262 vessels which is still expanding includes oil tankers, gas tankers, oil/chemical tankers, FPSO’s, container ships, roll-on roll-off ships, Baco ships, bulk carriers and large anchor handling and salvage tugs.

With a combined experience of around 50 years in the local manning industry, we have built up valuable experience and established a good standing with Government agencies, manning associations, training centres, medical clinics and P&I correspondents. Our good reputation was rewarded in 1989 when the company was inaugurated into the POEA Hall of Fame and we continue to receive Awards of Excellence and Citations from POEA.

We have excellent seafarer retention rates and our career development prospects for young Filipino seafarers are some of the best in the industry. Evidence of this is our seafarers that have remained loyal to PHS for more than 20 years, which is justification of our motto “Quality Service to Employers and Efficient Service to Crew”.

The company operates from a modern, purpose built office in Makati City, our central location gives

easy access to all Government agencies, training centres, medical clinics and the international airport. The office provides us with a comfortable working environment from which we handle both ex seafarers and new applicants.

All seafarer’s data is maintained electronically in a database that is shared by all our Employers, therefore making the exchange of information a seamless exercise.

In 1996 the company attained ISO 9002 Quality Management certification from Lloyds Register as recognition of our commitment to providing a top quality service to our customers and our seafarers. This has since been superseded by an ISO 9001:2000 certificate from Lloyds in 2002.

Also in 2002, the company was honoured to receive one of the First International Employer’s Awards and a Presidential Award of Distinction on behalf of our Employers.

The company has been a corporate member of FAME (Filipino Association for Mariners Employment) since 1979 and wholeheartedly supports the goals of the association in the promotion of Filipino the seafarer as well as promoting quality and transparency throughout the Filipino manning industry.
